DENVER-Evolving Systems Inc. released a new version of its local number portability software, which will enable telecommunications carriers to streamline LNP processing, cope with telephone number exhaustion and provide enhanced area code split functionality, said the company.
Version 1.3 of Evolving Systems’ LNP software is designed to better handle communications with the Number Portability Administration Center during heavy workload processing. Additional upgrades include modified report features and graphical user interface enhancements, said Evolving Systems.
The software also contains capabilities that would be required if the NPACs implement number pooling, which allows unused telephone numbers from different networks to be reallocated in areas where demand is high.
