SCARBOROUGH, Ontario-Clearnet Communications Inc. introduced a Flat Rate Optional Add-
On airtime package that allows Clearnet personal communication services clients to add flat-rate local evening and
weekend calling to their consumer or business rate plans.
Clearnet said for those clients who need only a single
phone and for whom Clearnet PCS works everywhere they need it to, using Clearnet PCS as their only phone is an
attractive option.
The entry-level Clearnet PCS price plan is $20 per month plus licensing fees. For an additional
$10, clients can add unlimited weekend calling, and for $15 more, unlimited evening calling as well, said the
company.
By comparison, Clearnet said local phone rates (including voice mail, caller ID and call waiting) in its
digital calling areas range from $32 to $45 per month plus installation fees between $31 and $55.
“Even if a
client decides to keep a landline phone, to use as a dedicated Internet access line for example, the freedom and
affordability offered by Clearnet’s new flat rate is very attractive,” said George Cope, Clearnet’s president and
chief executive officer.
