KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa.-InterDigital Communications Corp. and Nokia Corp. announced a
long-term cooperation agreement involving the development of new technology for third-generation wireless
telecommunications products designed for high data rate applications, such as Internet access.
According to the
multiyear agreement, InterDigital will deliver technology building blocks for Nokia to use in 3G wireless products. The
agreement includes paid up Time Division Multiple Access and Code Division Multiple Access patent licenses and is
valued at about $70 million, including an initial payment of about $30 million.
