NEW ORLEANS-ArrayComm Inc., San Jose, Calif., announced a contract with the Emirates
Telecommunications Corp. (Etisalat), the official telecommunications provider for the United Arab Emirates, for its
IntelliWave wireless local loop system. The value of the contract was not disclosed.
ArrayComm’s deployment in
the UAE, begun in late 1998, will cover areas in and around the capital city of Abu Dhabi and represents the initial
phase of a large program of UAE WLL installations scheduled over the next few years, according to
ArrayComm.
The sale was conducted through Tek Signals, ArrayComm’s distribution and systems integration
partner in the UAE.
The ArrayComm WLL system is powered by the company’s IntelliCell technology, which
combines digital signal processing systems with simple antenna arrays to enhance wireless signal quality, which in turn
enhances voice quality, minimizes interference and simultaneously supports multiple users on the same radio channel,
said ArrayComm.
