SCC to manage NET-tel E911 data

BOULDER, Colo.-SCC Communications Corp. announced it signed a five-year contract with NET-tel Communications Inc. to manage its Enhanced 911 data.

SCC, a provider of 911 operations support systems services, will provide NET-tel with its E9-1-1 Clearinghouse Service.

The service will allow NET-tel, an integrated communications provider of voice, data and Internet services to outsource the complex job of E911 database management.

When a telecommunications provider signs up a new customer, the provider must make sure all relevant 911 caller information is forwarded to the appropriate database.

Data must be validated, corrected, updated and formatted accurately and immediately, a time consuming, but important job.

“We’re delighted that NET-tel has chosen SCC’s Clearinghouse Services to support its business goal of providing the most responsive service available while satisfying customers’ complex communications needs,” Teri DePuy, vice president and general manager of SCC’s competitive local exchange carrier business unit, said.

“NET-tel can focus on managing its growing business and rest assured that its E911 customer data is accurate and available to public safety agencies in the event of an emergency.”
