HELSINKI, Finland-Nokia said it won a contract, valued at more than $30 million, with Ireland’s Eircell for a mobile network upgrade. The contract involves upgrading the base station system for Eircell and will be rolled out across the country during the next two years.
“With the growing demand for mobile Internet and high-speed data and the increased use of the full range of voice services already on offer, Eircell is committed to ensuring that the network grows and develops in tandem with the sophistication of our customers’ needs,” said Liam Butler, Eircell director of networks.
Eircell, Ireland’s largest wireless operator, has more than 1 million customers.
