LOWELL, Mass.-Wireless radio frequency and microwave components supplier M/A-Com Inc., a division of Tyco Electronics Corp., unveiled an integrated circuit upconverter for use in cellular band CDMA handsets and communications systems.
The MD59-0039 upconverter integrates an IF amplifier, RF mixer, LO buffer, voltage attenuator and RF output amplifier in a micro lead frame package designed to meet the linearity and low current requirements of CDMA and TDMA handsets.
M/A said the upconverter operates with an RF output frequency between 820 and 850 MHz, with maximum conversion gain of 24 decibels and a minimum 15 dB of gain range. The IC also features selectable bias via an external resistor allowing customers to trade off linearity for lower current draw.
