BEDMINSTER, N.J.-The country’s largest wireless operator, Verizon Wireless, reported it added more than 1.2 million net new customers during the fourth quarter of 2000, bringing its total net additions for the year to 3.7 million customers and its total subscriber base to 27.5 million.
Verizon said 99 percent of its net customer additions during the quarter were contract customers, up from 60 percent the same period last year. Total churn remained unchanged from the fourth quarter of 1999 at 2.6 percent.
