HELSINKI, Finland-Phone maker Nokia Corp. has signed deals with China’s Yunnan Mobile Communications Co. and the Beijing and Hubei branches of China Mobile Communications Corp.
Nokia agreed to a $160 million contract to deliver GSM 900 MHz and GSM 1800 MHz network expansion to YMCC, the seventh GSM agreement between both companies since 1996.
Under this deal, the Finnish company will supply high-capacity mobile switching equipment, base station equipment, the UltraSite base station solution and a range of professional services covering radio network planning, radio network optimization, project management, telecom implementation, assessment and certification services for competence transfer, training, help desk and on-site support services.
