AUSTIN, Texas-Coca-Cola Bottling Co. of Chicago is adopting the wireless, Web-based VendCast system from Isochron Data Corp. to help the soft drink company manage their full-service vending operations, Isochron said.
“The acceptance of the VendCast system by the largest, independent Coca-Cola bottler in the country is significant in the industry, as it marks the first time a top-five major market bottler has publicly adopted a wireless vending system,” said Steve Winter, chief executive officer of Isochron.
The VendCast system helps to reduce out-of-stock conditions, increase replenishment rates and identify out-of-service equipment. The system uses wireless networks, hardware and the Internet for collection, storage, analysis and distribution of data, Isochron said.
The bottler accesses the information through Web-based software applications.
Isochron said it will begin deploying the system regionally, with plans to expand service to Coca-Cola’s entire operation.
