RALEIGH, N.C.-High Speed Net Solutions (d/b/a Summus), developer of mobile multimedia solutions, announced a new video solution that runs applications on cellular handsets enabled by Qualcomm Inc.’s BREW technology.
High Speed Net Solutions’ BlueFuel Video software features an Efficiency Engine, BlueFuel applications, BlueFuel Create content creation tool, the BlueFuel Server for streaming media and the BlueFuel Player, which will also support content from third-party servers and in REAL MPEG4 formats.
“We are pleased that Summus has successfully demonstrated a BREW-enabled video solution on a handset,” said Gina Lombardi, vice president of marketing and product management for Qualcomm Internet services. “The BlueFuel product suite from Summus is a great example of the useful applications that will be accessible to end users as a result of the BREW technology.”
The BlueFuel Video software for BREW-enabled handsets is scheduled to launch later this year as part of a BlueFuel multimedia product suite. In the future, High Speed Net Solutions said it expects BlueFuel solutions, which are currently being demonstrated to carriers, content providers and device manufacturers, to deliver images, graphics, animation and 3D content to wireless and mobile devices.
