SUNNYVALE, Calif.-Actiontec Electronics Inc., a manufacturer of wireless networking products, has agreed to develop and market products based on Atheros Communications Inc.’s 802.11a chipset.
The first two products are expected to be an 802.11a wireless card, with a suggested retail price of $169, and a wireless access point, with a suggested price of $499. The wireless card is designed to be compatible with the 32-bit Type II PC Card Slot, while the access point will serve as a wireless hub and router. Both are scheduled to debut in November.
