@Nifty launches data services for FOMA users

TOKYO—@Nifty, the Internet access business unit of Fujitsu and the largest Internet service provider (ISP) in Japan, launched 384 kilobits per second (kbps) packet communications services for NTT DoCoMo’s FOMA service users. Now @Nifty users can access the Internet using their FOMA terminals once they connect their FOMA terminals and PCs with USB cable.

@Nifty does not charge additional fees for the service. Users, however, are charged packet communications fees by NTT DoCoMo.

NTT DoCoMo launched its 3G service called FOMA on 1 October. Some ISPs run by NTT Group have been providing 384 kbps packet communications service for FOMA users since then. @Nifty is the largest ISP in Japan with 4.94 million users.
