WOODBURY, N.Y.—Taiwan Cellular Corp. selected Comverse, a unit of Comverse Technology Inc., to provide its Intelligent Short Messaging Service Center to Taiwan Cellular’s 6.4 million subscribers.
“Our agreement with TCC underscores the expansion of Comverse’s enhanced services market success in the Asia-Pacific region, including SMS,” said Zeev Bregman, chief executive officer of Comverse. “We are seeing a trend toward the use of mobile phones for more sophisticated applications, and TCC is a highly developed company endorsing this trend.”
