RESTON, Va.—Nextel Communications Inc. introduced two new wireless handsets for its iDEN network designed and manufactured by Motorola Inc., the i90c and i80s. Nextel noted both handsets include Java technology, expanding the carrier’s Java-enabled phone line to four models.
The i90c features a clam-shell design with an external screen providing caller identification and status information, a smart key for closed-flip operation and an internal display screen with blue backlight supporting three font sizes. Both models provide a built-in speakerphone, voice-activated dialing and a voice recorder.
Nextel said it is offering the i90c at $200 and the i80s at $150 as a promotion with new activations.
