Nokia to establish R&D center in China

BEIJING—Nokia has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Zhejiang Provincial Government of China to establish a new research and development (R&D) center to focus on software development and platform technologies related to Nokia’s third-generation (3G) networks.

The center, which Nokia expects to be an important part of its global R&D network, will employ about 500 people in three to four years.
