MUNICH, Germany—Indonesia PT Satelindo selected Siemens to provide its GPRS network.
Siemens is currently upgrading Satelindo’s GSM 900 MHz network in the regions of Medan and Batam with GPRS. In future phases, Satelindo intends to offer GPRS nationwide.
Satelindo is Indonesia’s second-largest mobile carrier with more than 1.4 million customers. It is a subsidiary of PT Indosat (75 percent) and Deutsche Telekom (25 percent).
