CHICAGO—AT&T Wireless Services Inc. introduced GSM/GPRS services in the Chicago, Indianapolis and Kansas City areas geared towards the business market. The carrier said businesses will be able to access the network through their laptop computers and personal digital assistants using a Novatel Merlin G100 Wireless PC Card Modem at speeds up to 53.6 kilobits per second. Customers can also access the network using a pair of Motorola Inc. handsets and an optional connection kit for laptop computers.
Pricing plans for the service start at $50 per month for 400 voice minutes and one megabyte of data with incremental data use billed at less than one cent per kilobyte, or data-only plans starting at $30 per month for five MBs.
