HELSINKI, Finland—Finnish vendor Tecnomen said it will supply a messaging solution to Brazilian operator Algar Telecom Leste (ATL). The deal, worth around US$1.6 million, comprises a combination of voice mail, enhanced voice mail, intelligent callback and fax mail services.
The system, which has already been delivered, is due for commercial deployment in January 2002. According to Kimmo Aura, general manager of Tecnomen Latin America, the platform will allow ATL to provide voice mail features to its 2 million subscribers in the Rio de Janeiro and Espirito Santo states and allow the carrier to introduce new mobile messaging services in the future.
