BOSTON—Comverse announced it is integrating SpeechWorks International Inc.’s technology into its platform.
The Comverse platform combines a voice user interface with messaging, content applications and user personalization. SpeechWorks will add large vocabulary recognition with its OpenSpeech Recognizer engine, the OpenSpeech Server software and Speechify and ETI-Eloquence TTS engines.
In related news, InfoSpace Inc. announced an agreement with VoiceGenie Technologies Inc. to integrate VoiceGenie’s VoiceXML gateway into InfoSpace’s speech platform.
The combined technologies will give wireless carriers the ability to support multiple automatic speech recognition engines, international telephone standards, as well as multimodal applications on a VoiceXML 2.0-compliant gateway, InfoSpace said.
