Yahoo signs deal with Amtrak

SUNNYVALE, Calif.—Internet giant Yahoo announced it is working to bring the wireless Internet to the nation’s oldest form of mass transit—the train.

Under a deal between Yahoo and Amtrak, three trains sporting a Yahoo paintjob will offer passengers wireless access through Compaq Computer Corp.’s popular iPAQ personal digital assistants. The branded trains will operate in the Northeast and the Midwest every day for up to six months.
