BELLEVUE, Wash.—Merchants now have a variety of new options to choose from in order to conduct business when they are away from their cash register.
Wireless Internet application and service provider InfoSpace Inc. released its new AirPay payment processing system, which the company said allows mobile merchants to accept credit card and electronic check payments anytime, anywhere. The system works on any Pocket PC- or Palm-based device and features real-time reporting, out-of-network capabilities and secure session management.
Separately, Creditel continues to expand its wireless payment services through a new deal with BServ Check Services. BServ will provide check transaction processing services, including verification, guarantee and conversion.
Creditel recently signed a deal with U.S. Wireless Data Inc. to power its new PowerSwipe and PowerPay mobile payment products. The products allow mobile merchants to verify credit cards using a card reader attached to a mobile phone or by entering the credit card number into the phone.
