EDINBURG, Va.-Sprint PCS affiliate and rural telecommunications provider Shenandoah Telecommunications Co. reported $19.1 million in wireless revenue for the second quarter, an increase from the $13.2 million it reported for the same quarter last year. The company attributed the growth to its personal communications services operations where revenues jumped from $7.7 million last year to $13.2 million this year.
Shenandoah said it added 3,000 PCS customers during the quarter, ending with 60,000 total PCS subscribers. The carrier noted gross customer additions was negatively affected during the quarter by the introduction of a $125 deposit for sales to certain credit-challenged customers.
