SAN JOSE, Calif.-Wireless Local Area Network services provider HereUare Communications Inc. is up for sale, and could shut down its services within two weeks if a buyer is not found, according to published reports.
Company executives were not immediately available for comment.
The move does not necessarily come as a surprise-analysts have been for months predicting massive consolidation in the Wi-Fi market. Indeed, VoiceStream Wireless Corp. purchased WLAN player MobileStar out of bankruptcy earlier this year, and is working to include 802.11 access in its service offerings.
