WAYNESBORO, Va.-Telecommunications provider Ntelos Inc. reported $38.5 million in wireless operating revenues for the second quarter compared with $30.3 million reported for the same quarter last year. The company attributed the increase to customer growth in postpaid plans and continued strength in average revenue per user.
While gross customer additions increased from 35,043 during the second quarter last year to 37,863 this year, an increase in postpaid customer churn from 2.35 percent to 3.38 percent resulted in net customer additions dropping from 12,583 last year to 9,697 this year.
Balancing out the drop in net customer additions was an increase in ARPU from $42.60 to $46.05 and a drop in cost per gross addition from $371.74 to $302.43.
