WOODBURY, N.Y.-The Intelligent Network-based “Prepaid Solution” of Comverse has secured approval for interoperability with Nortel Networks’ IS-41P, a proprietary IN signaling protocol for CDMA and TDMA mobile switches.
Comverse, a unit of Comverse Technology, said in its August 19 announcement that it is the first vendor to receive approval from Nortel for this integration.
Nortel’s signaling protocol helps reduce the number of ports a carrier must use and increases call-processing capabilities, Comverse said. Comverse Prepaid Solution is a system working independently of switches and networks to support real-time billing for voice and advanced data services.
