SARASOTA, Fla.-The Wave Wireless Networking division of Speedcom Wireless Corp., has begun shipping version 2.0 of its SPEEDLAN 9000 broadband wireless router, the company said August 29.

“The value proposition presented by our SPEEDLAN 9000 has been well received since its initial launch (of version 1.0 in June),” said Bill Davis, president and chief operating officer.

“Version 2.0 adds . enhanced mesh capabilities and bandwidth management (that) will allow our customers greater flexibility of design in their wireless networks, even for those already utilizing competitors’ solutions.”

For companies using competitive solutions, including Microwave Multi-point Distribution Systems, Local Multi-point Distribution Systems or unlicensed base stations, the mesh routing technology helps solve the problems of shadows in wireless network coverage, Speedcom said.
