GENEVA, Switzerland-STMicroelectronics said it will present at the Diskcon Exhibition in San Jose next week a new read/write chip called Leonardo that cuts consumption power on mobile phones.
“Building on the experience of previous generation read channels, Leonardo includes an interpolated timing recovery loop that allows the use of higher-latency, lower power dissipation analog-digital converters, maintaining the same overall system performance as Flash-ADC based read/write channels,” said the company in a statement.
