LINTHICUM, Md.-Telecom equipment maker Ciena Corp. said it will cut 450 jobs, or 17 percent of its work force and will likely take a charge of $75 to $80 million in its fiscal fourth quarter.
“The actions taken today are part of Ciena’s ongoing efforts to manage our business back to profitability as soon as possible,” said Gary Smith, president and chief executive officer.
