Loveland uses Autodesk, GiveMePower systems

LOVELAND, Colo.-The City of Loveland, Colo., is combining GiveMePower Corp.’s PowerCAD CE, a mobile handheld CAD system, with Autodesk Inc.’s desktop GIS system, AutoCAD Map, to offer its field staff and external contractors to remotely access municipal mapping data from the city’s database.

The PowerCAD CE handheld system runs on Microsoft’s Windows CE-based Pocket PCs. “This lets clients like the City of Loveland instantly mobilize their work force without having to change their existing systems and practices,” said Bill Walton, president and chief executive officer of GiveMePower. “There is a real demand in small municipalities for this combination of full-featured mobile CAD in a GIS environment.”
