Starfish secures Italian data agreement

SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif.-Starfish Software has been chosen by H3G to implement a mobile infrastructure solution to enable over-the-air synchronization of consumer and corporate data.

“The agreement with Starfish is another step in our strategy to carry out high-quality infrastructures and technological platforms,” said Bob Fuller, H3G’s chief executive officer. “Our customers will be able to synchronize their personal data-such as their calendar, address book and list of activities-with the dedicated server, PC, PDA, and of course UMTS handset-a necessary service for those who are always on the move.”

The solution will be initially deployed in Italy with other markets to follow. H3G is 78.3-percent owned by Hutchison Whampoa and is a greenfield UMTS operator in Italy.
