REDWOOD CITY, Calif.-Wireless Internet software and infrastructure provider Openwave Systems Inc. reported slightly higher revenues for its first quarter and a smaller net loss compared with its previous quarter.
The company’s revenues were $71.2 million and its pro forma net loss was $29.9 million.
Investors seemed heartened by the news, sending the company’s stock up more than 10 percent to about $1 per share.
“Openwave delivered a solid quarter,” said Don Listwin, the company’s president and chief executive officer. “Operators worldwide are re-engaging around mobile data.”
The company expects to report revenues of $65 million and a net loss per share of between 14 and 21 cents in the December quarter.
