Nitel reshuffles its board of directors

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa-The Nigerian government has approved the reconstitution of a 16-member board of directors of the Nigerian Telecommunications (Nitel).

Samuel Ajayi, press secretary for the Ministry of Communications, said the board would have Dr. Aneze Chinwuba as its chairman and representing the southeast geo-political area. Other members are Nitel’s managing director, and three executive directors of Nitel.

In addition, Alhaji Garba Noma and Abraham Umaru will represent the Ministry of Communications, with two representatives of the Bureau for Public Enterprise (BPE) and one representative of the ministry of finance. The women’s interest in the communications company will be represented by Halita Aliyu.
