TOKYO-NTT DoCoMo Inc. plans to introduce its Limitplus billing plan Dec. 1 that will block all outgoing calls and all data communications once monthly phone charges reach a pre-set limit.
The carrier said the billing plan, which is similar to automatic spending limit plans introduced by some U.S. carriers, is expected to gain popularity with companies or families that want to limit monthly charges used by employees or children or by customers who are more comfortable setting a limit on their monthly phone charges.
The plan will be available for PDC-based digital handsets except pre-paid accounts.
NTT DoCoMo also announced plans to begin allowing Internet service providers use of its PDC-based packet network in an attempt to stimulate further development of the country’s mobile Internet market.
