LONDON-Pogo Technology, which sold a unique mobile phone/personal digital assistant (PDA) to consumers in the United Kingdom through a deal with Carphone Warehouse, will get a name change and new business focus in conjunction with its new investment team.
Pogo Mobile Solutions, as the company is now called, will be run by Ran Mokady, a former Microsoft director. It will quit selling its wireless device and will now work to license its General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) device platform to other manufacturers.
“We have acquired some great technology and a highly experienced team of specialists and plan to transform this business into a successful IP licensing operation,” Mokady said.
