SCHAUMBURG, Ill.-Software company Atsonic L.L.C. announced a new wireless service to deliver live video of traffic updates and travel times information to mobile phones and personal digital assistants.
The company’s sweetTRAFFIC application offers pictures and information from critical traffic zones such as expressways, intersections, downtown areas, airports, business districts, recreational areas, major metropolitan areas and suburbs. The company is previewing the service in Chicago and has plans to expand the service to other areas, including New York, Atlanta and Los Angeles, early next year.
The company said it is working with several wireless service providers, local, state or federal administrations and organizations to expand the service coverage.
