Power management IC market set to take off

NEW YORK-The worldwide power management integrated circuits market, which generated $9.3 billion in revenues last year, is poised reach $12.02 billion by the end of 2006, according to a new report from Frost & Sullivan.

“Steady increases in automotive electronic content, coupled with the growth in communications and portable electronic devices, is stimulating demand for power management ICs,” said Alok Tiku, research analyst for Frost & Sullivan.

“Maximizing system performance and increasing functionality while minimizing power consumption will be key in the manufacturing of power management devices.”
