BERLIN-The wireless industry may not witness any mergers among the big vendors, according comments Rueters attributed to Frank Dunn, Nortel Networks Ltd. Chief Executive.
“I don’t expect consolidation in the industry,” said Dunn. “I find it hard to find consolidation that has been a success. We all have global coverage already, so mergers would be all about cutting costs, but we are already cutting costs.”
He noted that companies now focus on their core competencies.
