NEW YORK-Standard & Poor’s Ratings Services affirmed its ‘A+’ corporate credit rating on Verizon Communications Inc. and revised its outlook on the telecommunications company and its related entities from negative to stable.
S&P stated that a decline in access lines for Verizon was “somewhat mitigated by the company’s strong wireless segment growth” as well as success in obtaining long-distance approvals and continued cost controls.
S&P did note that the revised rating does not incorporate Vodafone Group plc’s option beginning in July to put its 45 percent ownership back to Verizon Wireless.
