JOHANNESBURG, South Africa-Kenyan mobile network company Kencell Communications recently announced the extension of its local network to the towns of Iten and Kabarnet.
Philippe Vandebrouck, managing director of KenCell, said the expansion to Uasin Gishu and Baringo districts has increased the network’s coverage to more than 120 towns across Kenya.
Vandebrouck said the company had improved its subscriber base to 670,000.
“KenCell subscribers are delighted by the good news offered every month this year, and we would like to expand our network even further, so as to give more people an opportunity to enjoy these same benefits,” said Vandebrouck.
The network embarked on an expansion program recently aimed at increasing coverage in the rural areas.
