ST. PETERSBURG, Russia-Lucent Technologies said it completed an expansion of the 450 MHz cdma2000 1x network in Russia for Delta Telecom, the first Russian operator to launch a 1x network.
The expansion was completed in late June. The expansion made available voice and data services through Karelian Isthmus and in a number of additional cities near St. Petersburg. Delta Telecom initially launched its 1x network last December.
In other Lucent news, Singapore’s MobileOne has deployed Lucent’s Mi-Life SurePay prepaid voice and data services system. Lucent said the technology will allow M1 to offer a wider range of personalized services, including prepaid voice and real-time prepaid short messaging, than currently available.
The deal included hardware and software. Lucent said.
