LONDON-Lucent Technologies Inc. said it has signed a three-year contract to assess and analyze the performance of European mobile operator MmO2’s GSM and GPRS networks in Germany, Ireland, the Isle of Mann and the United Kingdom.
“It is important to O2 that we ensure our network coverage performs to its optimal capacity. Rigorous testing and analysis methods are a means of continuing our high performance levels,” said Dave Williams, chief technology officer of O2.
Lucent will analyze and identify possible areas for network improvements, the company said. Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.
