Euronet purchases Austin International Marketing

LEAWOOD, Kan.-Electronic transaction company Euronet Worldwide Inc. announced it purchased the assets of Austin International Marketing and Investments Inc., which sells prepaid wireless services via point-of-sale terminals throughout the United States.

Euronet said it purchased the assets on an “earn-out” basis, with $1.9 million of the purchase price being paid at closing in cash and Euronet stock and the remainder being paid over two years based on defined financial results of the network purchased.

Euronet said the deal will enhance its U.S. prepaid program, PaySpot, which allows customers to purchase wireless airtime and long distance calling plans from ATMs and point-of-sale terminals across the country.

AIM, founded in 1999, has distribution agreements with AT&T Wireless Services Inc., Cingular Wireless L.L.C., T-Mobile USA Inc., Verizon Wireless and other carriers.
