GENEVA-STMicroelectronics and the Kudelski Group announced they will provide a jointly developed third-generation Secure JavaCard system solution.
The solution will include a background-compatible 3G SIM/USIM card to enable service providers and application providers to design and deploy secure mobile services. The solution is WIM ready and includes cryptographic functions for authentication of subscribers and to support encryption and the digital signatures.
The companies plan to deploy the system in the first half of 2004.
