InterOP signs short-code partnerships

FORT MYERS, Fla.-InterOP Technologies L.L.C. recently announced it has signed multi-year service partnerships with Cellcom, First Cellular of Southern Illinois and thumb Cellular to provide short message service short-code functionality.

InterOP’s short-code platform features a Web-based architecture that allows carriers to securely create, edit and track short-code campaigns or allow customers, including television and radio stations, sport teams and colleges, to manage their own short-code campaigns.

“Building on our robust SMS messaging platform, InterOP has created short-code functionality, allowing abbreviated SMS addressing,” explained John Dwyer, chief operating officer of InterOP. “This allow carriers to grow billable MO message volume through a seemingly endless variety of promotional and marketing opportunities.”

InterOP also recently announced the introduction of its Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) platform, including MMS and WAP gateway functionality.
