LAS VEGAS-Aiirnet Wireless L.L.C., which provides and deploys high-speed Wi-Fi Internet service, made several announcements at this week’s CTIA Wireless I.T. show in Las Vegas.
The company announced the availability of the AiirLink Hot-Spot-In-A-Box, which allows any retail establishment to offer high-speed wireless broadband access to customers with Wi-Fi-enabled devices.
Aiirnet also announced a new Internet service provider service through which it will offer wireless broadband Internet services in remote and rural areas. The service can provide wireless broadband connectivity in a hot zone covering up to 30 miles.
The company also said its AiirLink Network Services Division recently finished deploying a wireless DS3 broadband backhaul service in Laramie, Wyo., for National Broadband. AiirLink Network Services provided site acquisition, planning, engineering and field deployment for the wireless ISP.
In other Wi-Fi news this week, BelAir Networks unveiled the BelAir 200, an outdoor cellular local area network platform that combines access points, switching capabilities, router, backhaul, power backup and network management tools into one small box. The product allows operators to deploy hot spots and hot zones without requiring T1 and DSL backhaul, and according to the company, the solution delivers five to 10 times more backhaul capacity and coverage than current networking options.
