WASHINGTON-Bruce Mehlman, the No. 2 official at the Technology Administration, is leaving the Bush administration to become executive director of a major high-tech advocacy group.
Mehlman, whose brother Ken is a political advisor to President Bush, will be executive director of the Computer Systems Policy Project beginning Dec. 1
CSPP is focused on export control reform, digital rights management, international trade, privacy and networked world infrastructure, including spectrum allocation and broadband deployment.
There is no word yet on who will succeed Mehlman at TA, a unit of the Commerce Department.
