LAS VEGAS-Tatara Systems released a new software developer’s kit as part of the Tatara Wi-Fi Service Delivery Platform at last week’s CTIA Wireless I.T. show in Las Vegas.
The new SDK allows operators to extend their existing connectivity client software to capitalize on advanced roaming and service capabilities provided by Tatara’s Subscriber Gateway, enhancing the value of a public Wi-Fi service offering for the end user and the service provider.
“Many wireless and wireline service providers who have already equipped their subscribers with connectivity software allowing them to more easily access data networks such as Wi-Fi, GPRS, CDMA 1xRTT, dial-up or others would like to extend the full range of capabilities offered by the Tatara Subscriber Gateway to these subscribers,” explained Steve Nicolle, Tatara’s president and chief executive officer. “With our new Tatara Service Manager SDK, operators do not have to change the software interface that their subscribers are already using to take advantage of the many capabilities of the Tatara Wi-Fi Service Delivery Platform, including superior subscriber management and advanced service delivery.”
Tatara also announced a partnership with Europe’s Alice Systems to jointly deliver a suite of Wi-Fi and WAN capabilities to tier-one service providers using the new SDK.
