WESTBOROUGH, Mass.-Paging and messaging carrier Arch Wireless Inc. reported net income of $6.2 million for its third quarter, down slightly from the $8.8 million it scored in the same quarter last year. The carrier said it earned $143.6 million in revenues in the quarter.
“Arch’s operating results for the third quarter continued to meet our expectations,” said C. Edward Baker Jr., the carrier’s chairman and chief executive officer. “We are pleased with the company’s overall progress, including the continued reduction of operating expenses and consistent level of operating margins.”
Arch reported a net decline of 305,000 units in service during the third quarter, 294,000 one-way units and 11,000 two-way units. The carrier’s subscriber base totaled 4.5 million.
