HELSINKI, Finland-Nokia Corp. said it has signed a deal to supply EDGE equipment for Global Telecom in the Philippines. Global Telecom will deploy the services in Metro Manila. The actual date of the rollout was not disclosed.
The carrier had completed trials earlier this year.
Nokia also will provide professional services such as project management, implementation, network planning and optimization.
“This will enhance our customers’ experience with advanced mobile multimedia services such as MMS, downloads of Java games, icons, screensavers, ringtones and more,” said Gerardo C. Ablaza, president and chief executive officer of Globe Telecom.
